Yes - A visa is required for travel to Barbados

A valid passport and long term visa are required for missionary travel to Barbados.

Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Barbados, with at least two blank passport pages available for Barbadian visa stamp, plus one copy of the Bio-data page. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Barbados visas.


Barbados Visa Application Form:

Two Barbados visa application forms. After placing your order, fill out the application forms included in your Visa Application Kit.


Photo Requirements:

Four recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs in color, front view and with a plain/white background.

OR - you can upload a photo when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.

  • Two character references of applicant
  • Evidence of the applicants qualifications


Letter Of Invitation:

A letter of invitation from the host organization or sponsor in Barbados explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel to Barbados. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and host’s name and contact information.


Business Cover Letter:

Letter from church or sponsoring organization in the US, on letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s status/position held in the organization, clearly stating the purpose of visit to Barbados. The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Barbados.

The Consulate of Barbados requires an official business letter to support your application. To generate a Barbados Business Cover Letter on-line, simply request this service and provide your information using the simple online form in your Visa Application Kit, which you will receive once you place your order.


Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Barbados.


Criminal Record:

A Police Certificate of Character (PCC) which has been confirmed by finger prints from the US or any country in which the applicant may have resided for six months or more since age 16.


Special Instructions:

US citizens traveling to Barbados for missionary purposes must apply for a work permit for that time period. Once entry is approved, there will be a final fee which varies depending on length of stay and type of work being done in the country.
